By 2019, it’s estimated that up to 40 billion devices may be connected to the internet or each other.
Welcome to the “internet of things,” or IoT.
It’s a world where a refrigerator can send you a message on your phone when your milk is about to expire, and also a coupon to buy a fresh carton at the local supermarket.
IoT presents infinite opportunities for organizations looking to harness the power of connected platforms.
That’s why we’re holding a moderated panel at the inaugural Sydney CDO Summit on March 1, 2016, hosted at the UTS Business School and presented by Accenture Digital, with an incredible array of experts who will explore the opportunities present in IoT.
We will be joined by:
George Lawson: Head of Emerging Products and Innovation in Australia and New Zealand for Visa. Lawson’s focus is on mobile and how this supports multi-channel and multi-form factor purchase experiences, and he is responsible for Visa’s proximity payments including eSE, HCE and new form factors as they emerge, person to person payments and how these come together with remote payments on the mobile.
Kate Burleigh: Managing Director for Intel Australia and New Zealand. Responsible for Intel’s overall business operations in the region, Burleigh has 20 years of consumer sales and brand building experience. Burleigh plays a key role in ensuring Intel fulfills its role as trusted advisor and enabler within the evolving technology landscape.
Lee Hickin: Lee heads Microsoft’s IoT strategy for Australia as Product Manager, Internet of Things. Hickin has over 23 years experience in the IT industry. Prior to joining Microsoft, he spent 5 years at RSA Security as a Senior Consultant on Identity management and Authentitcation Services and 7 years in a variety of roles at IBM, Tivoli and a couple of start-ups.
