Olivia Zhu is the Assistant Director for AI Policy at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, where she works on promoting the safe and trustworthy use of AI, including through the recent AI Executive Order. Prior to working on AI policy for the Biden-Harris Administration, she worked at technology companies, including Amazon and Microsoft Research, building AI products. She has overseen over 10 launches of AI products across problem spaces ranging from search ranking to sales to pricing products.
Randal Cole is the Chief Data and AI Officer (Acting) at the Department of the Navy in the Office of the CIO (OCIO). Dr. Cole has over seventeen years of experience as an analyst for the Department of the Navy (DON) including six years at the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA) and eleven years as a civilian Operations Research Analyst for both Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) and the DON Secretariat.
Krista Kinnard is the Culture & Communications Lead for NASA Digital Transformation. In her role, she shepherds the refinement and integration of NASA’s digital transformation strategy, plans and policies and helps coordinate the implementation of transformation activities across the NASA enterprise in a number of strategic areas including data, inclusive teaming, intelligent automation, artificial intelligence/machine learning, process transformation, and culture and workforce. Prior to joining NASA, Krista served as the Director of Innovation and Engineering at the Department of Labor (DOL). She established and directed the AI Center of Excellence, the Automation Center of Excellence and the department’s Innovation Incubator. She also served as the Responsible AI Official for DOL, representing the department in White House working groups for the implementation of Executive Order 13960: Promoting the Use of Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence in the Federal Government.
Alexandria Redmon is the Senior Director of Product & Technology at Hearst. She specializes in infrastructure planning, team management, software architecture, web development, application design, creative direction, project management, marketing, graphic design & search engine optimization.
Josh Awtry is Senior Vice President, Audience Strategy at Newsweek, where his goal is to deepen the news outlet’s relationship with readers, working across news and product teams to help Newsweek’s millions of readers find the value in Newsweek’s mission. He uses a combination of data-driven insights, technology, team building and old-school journalistic ethics to help media outlets see new pathways to increase the quality of their readership and grow their business. Prior to Newsweek, Awtry led content strategy for the USA TODAY Network and Gannett, powering the operation to 1.5 million digital subscribers and a reach of more than 130 million people each month. He has also served as Senior Vice President of Audience at The Hill.
Patty Michalski is SVP of Content and Innovation at Hearst. Patty has 10+ years experience in digital content and social innovation, specializing in mobile products/content and engagement. She is a member of the USA TODAY executive leadership team; key member of mobile product team responsible for successful iterations of USA TODAY’s iPad, iPhone apps; created USA TODAY editorial mobile programming strategy; led effort to get USA TODAY on key social platforms; developed strategy for editorial management of USA TODAY's branded social accounts; increased mobile video content consumption year-over-year; liaison for product enhancements; track, analyze and report (daily) on digital metrics trends and traffic spikes.
